websiteHeya folks,
we are sitting here at the KDE wiki sprint in Berlin and are looking at all the KDE webpages. http://women.kde.org is horribly outdated and pretty useless as is. Are there any objections to deleting the content and redirect it to a page on the soon to be set up community.kde.org wiki. This page would contain a short project summary and a hint to this mailing list. If no-one opposes within the next 2 weeks I am going to go ahead and get this done as the page in its current form does more harm than good to us. Re: websiteOk great :)
I will get this done soon then. If someone feels like writing a nice short intro for the page on community.kde.org please let me know. Otherwise I'll try to do that. Re: websitegreat idea!
So I guess somewhere between the lines I missed something? Since we were discussing about communitybase.kde.org for about months now and nobody really reacted on this mailing-list question (promo, www and ev-marketing). I can only be possitive, Lydia, that you are doing a hell of a good job! :-) Wendy Van Craen KDE Promotion & Events IRC CRAEW wendyvancraen.blogspot.com 2009/6/30 Lydia Pintscher <lydia@...>: > Ok great :) > I will get this done soon then. Jep http://community.kde.org has been set up and is being filled with stuff from techbase now that doesn't belong there any more. (meaning danimo is working on doing automated migration of some pages) The guys at the wiki sprint decided against calling it communitybase though and to go with community wiki instead. *sob* http://wiki.kde.org will be a simple landing page with a very short intro of each wiki to help people find the right one. Design of that is done and needs some magic css and html now before I can put that online. And then _finally_ the old wiki.kde.org will be no more \o/ > I can only be possitive, Lydia, that you are doing a hell of a good job! :-) Thanks :) Cheers Lydia -- Lydia Pintscher Amarok community manager kde.org - amarok.kde.org - kubuntu.org claimid.com/nightrose _______________________________________________ kde-women mailing list kde-women@... https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-women |

Re: websiteHeya :)
two weeks are over now and I finally got around to writing the text for the wiki page. I'm not too creative today so please let me know if you have improvements or a better text. Is there anything you want to migrate from the current website to the wiki? Please let me know asap. I will ask sysadmin on Monday to redirect women.kde.org to the wiki. Not sure when they will get to it. Cheers Lydia Text for review: ------------------------------------------------------- KDE-women is a group of women in the KDE community. We are here to help increase the number of women in Open Source and to support each other. KDE is an friendly and open community and one of the Open Source projects with the highest rate of female contributors. It strives through its diversity. Some of the things we do: - helping find women find the right place for them to contribute - encourage women to give talks at conferences like Akademy, the annual KDE conference - provide support in difficult situations and most importantly we make KDE rock more each day ;-) To contact us please join our mailinglist at http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-women Read our blogs to find out what some of us are doing in KDE: <list of links to blogs here> ------------------------------------------------------- -- Lydia Pintscher Amarok community manager kde.org - amarok.kde.org - kubuntu.org claimid.com/nightrose _______________________________________________ kde-women mailing list kde-women@... https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-women |
