will megrok.kss ever go "live"?

I am writing an article about KSS and Grok, and I note that both the
"Grok Newbie KSS Tutorial" that's the #1 Google hit for 'grok kss', as
well as our own "Adding AJAX with KSS to Grok" How-to, have to send
users through checking out their "trunk" from Subversion and adding
those development eggs to their "buildout.cfg".

So, out of curiosity, I thought I'd ask: are there plans to release
"kss.core" and "megrok.kss" any time soon?  It would just make Grok
and KSS look a little less crusty to potential readers if they didn't
have to download Subversion trunks just to try the software out. :-)
Of course, I have no problem telling them to do so if there is no
other choice, and the megrok.kss folks are too busy for a release
right now; but, if they were thinking of releasing soon anyway, it
would be fun if they did it in the next week or so. :-)

I should have corrected those tutorials.

There is a dev releases of megrok.kss:

http://pypi.python.org/pypi/megrok.kss/0.1dev-r84454

and a RC of the kss.core release that megrok.kss relies on:

http://pypi.python.org/pypi/kss.core/1.4-rc1

If you have a chance to fix those tutorials, please go.

Further, you can add the info that kss.core 1.4 will go to final as soon
Plone 3.1 does.

I got info of at least one bug that I need to fix before making a RC
release for megrok.kss

This mail is also a chance to thank you Brandon for the work done
evangelizing KSS.

There might be an issue with the egg dependencies though. megrok.kss dev
release was done before kss.core RC1.

If needed, I can make a new dev release, just lemme know.

Hey,

[Brandon showing exactly the "push this thing to release already!"
attitude we need]

Brandon, in Godefroid's response it looks like it's up to "the Grok
project" to make this happen - i.e. us people, as I suspected. :) If
you're wanting to champion this topic you're more than welcome to. I
assume that some of us will look at megrok.kss again at the Grokkerdam
sprint (Godefroid, for instance), but I certainly don't think we should
have to wait for it.

Regards,

Martijn

And I'd be happy to help... and to welcome manpower to KSS project.

It's definitely on my plate at Grokkerdam if it has not happened before.
