workspaces GUIThinking about a ws creation GUI...
The old aulawiki gui proposed you a list of predefined ws types. And now this is handled by profiles. It would be nice if, at that point, one could choose to create a workspace by choosing among some available types, as profiles. Canb profile be filtered somehow so that only 'ws profiles' are shown? And, does there exist any permission that would allow non-admins (delegated ws administrators) to install profiles? Re: workspaces GUIHi,
Data channels are the way normal users can play with profiles, that's true. But before a GUI is released, a WS handler is needed, don't you think? With the handler we will be able to use profiles and data channels to create ws in a very intuitive and efficient way. Furthermore, users will be able to define their own profiles to manage ws. Please contribute ;-) http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/WS+Handler On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 2:56 PM, Marc Laporte <marc@...> wrote: > yes, that is what data channels are for > http://profiles.tikiwiki.org/Data+Channels > > > On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 2:59 AM, Giancarlo Pinerolo <giancapin@...> wrote: >> Thinking about a ws creation GUI... >> The old aulawiki gui proposed you a list of predefined ws types. >> And now this is handled by profiles. >> It would be nice if, at that point, one could choose to create a >> workspace by choosing among some available types, as profiles. >> Canb profile be filtered somehow so that only 'ws profiles' are shown? >> And, does there exist any permission that would allow non-admins >> (delegated ws administrators) to install profiles? >> >> >> Giancarlo >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ >> Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day >> trial. Re: workspaces GUIThere are a prototype ws handler done. But with errors, if someone can re-code it (I can do it, but not now, I don't have time), it should work in no time.
