I am unable to get the belkin wifi dongle work on my ARM target board.I have described my complete steps.Any advise appreciated.
1.Is there any other known kernel patches that I can apply?
2.Is something wrong with my USB subsystem?
3.I have tried various cable length/with and without hub.Any other ideas?

When you plug the dongle in at the first time, the firmware files get uploaded in the correct way(ref: first section of dmesg log). It errors out when you do an 'ifconfig' subsequently. My firmware files are located in /lib/firmware/zd1211/.

thanks for the reply.

I got the dongle to work inconsistently on "2.6.22.18-omap1" ,configured the same as earlier in the post. The dongle works fresh out of the box.But on second and consecutive attempts it stops working and goes into reset mode.

I actually don't use the rw driver, because I need Master mode (which, currently, only the vendor driver provides). Somebody will hate me for mentioning this - there are people who had some experience with making the vendor driver work on ARM:
http://linux.omap.com/pipermail/davinci-linux-open-source/2007-February/002478.html
http://www.mail-archive.com/davinci-linux-open-source@.../msg02723.html

On a different issue, have you tried "modprobe -r" between attempts?
